2006 School Bond

By a 5 to 1 margin, Brownsville voters approved a $135 Million School Bond in 2006 allowing the district to use State Instructional Facilities Allotment (IFA) funds to construct 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 high school and make several building additions, renovations, and upgrades throughout the district.

The Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) meets monthly at the Central Administrative Building (CAB). This distinguished panel, appointed by Board members and the Interim Superintendent, ensures that Brownsville ISD prudently turns the $135 Million School Bond into school buildings in a timely manner in accordance with all required state and local policies and laws. Members of the BOC invest their own personal time to directly impact countless generations of Brownsville citizens.
