All BISD campuses and departments will be closed March 12-16, 2018, for Spring Break.

State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness
In spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The STAAR program includes annual assessments for grades 3–8 in reading and mathematics; assessments in writing at grades 4 and 7; in science at grades 5 and 8; and in social studies at grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, English II, Algebra I, biology and U.S history. – STAAR RESOURCES

Requests for publication of information on the District website must be directed to the district's Public Information Administrator. It is also the duty of the office of Public Information to successfully maintain the portion of the main page that directly relates to the news, announcements, current events, and information and to change the pictures and captions. It is the duty and responsibility of all departments and campuses to update and maintain their individual websites. It is imperative that department or campus administration be responsible for the content provided to make sure that it meets the guidelines set forth in the Acceptable Use Policy and Improper Use of the Computer System. No commercial advertising will be permitted on a website controlled by the District.
