School Board Meetings

The Board of Trustees holds regular monthly meetings at 5:30 PM on the first Tuesday of the month in the Administration Building, 1900 Price Road. Agendas are posted in the lobby and outside display case of the Administration Building at least 72 hours before regular meetings. Meeting agendas are provided for visitors at the entrance of the Boardroom. Special meetings are called as needed and agendas are posted at least 72 hours in advance. Emergency meetings require a two-hour notice. All meetings are open to the public, except when the Board adjourns for closed meetings to discuss personnel matters, litigation, and property acquisition.

The District's system is provided on an areas is, as available basis. Access to the District's electronic communications system is a privilege, not a right. All users shall be required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of all administrative regulations governing use of the system and shall agree in writing to allow monitoring of their use and to comply with such regulations and guidelines. Noncompliance may result in suspension of access or termination of privileges and other disciplinary action consistent with District policies. The District will maintain a website for the purpose of informing employees, students, parents, and members of the community of programs, policies, and practices. Electronic communications also include the District's webserver. The District's webserver houses http://www.bisd.us which is the district's main page (homepage). It is the duty and responsibility of all departments and campuses to update and maintain their individual Web sites related to the homepage.
Requests for publication of information on the District website must be directed to the district's Public Information Administrator. It is also the duty of the office of Public Information to successfully maintain the portion of the main page that directly relates to the news, announcements, current events, and information and to change the pictures and captions. It is the duty and responsibility of all departments and campuses to update and maintain their individual websites. It is imperative that department or campus administration be responsible for the content provided to make sure that it meets the guidelines set forth in the Acceptable Use Policy and Improper Use of the Computer System. No commercial advertising will be permitted on a website controlled by the District.
